About

Amrit Gill is a producer, journalist and host who works at the intersection of sport, culture and storytelling.
Her career began in journalism, reporting for a national broadcaster while still in high school. She went on to cover national and local news for multilingual audiences, reporting on crime, politics and international affairs before moving into sports, entertainment and branded content.
In 2015, Amrit made history as the first woman to report for Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition, helping build a diaspora broadcast into a globally recognized sports brand.
Since then, her work has taken her from broadcast studios and major sporting organizations to international stages. At Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, her storytelling and brand work contributed to a Clio Award and the NBA Inclusion Leadership Award. She has also directed original programming for the NBA, including the show How Hungry Are You?
Through the International Ice Hockey Federation, Amrit has trained athletes and leaders in storytelling and media literacy across 40+ countries, moderated international summits and worked with leaders from the global sports community. She has also spoken through the United Nations Association of Canada.
Across every platform, Amrit brings together journalism, production, cultural intelligence and audience insight. At the heart of her work is one question: What do we lose when we translate ourselves to fit in—and what becomes possible when we stop?
